Single vision Lenses
This is a single focus lens designed either for distance or near vision Thickness and weight of these varies with the prescription. All lenses are made of a resin material and are scratch resistant.

Multifocal are a multi focus lens prescribed to those who have distance and near vision requirements. Available at St George Vision in wide designs in the new digital free form range to suit various visual needs depending on lifestyle and occupations.
Whether or not you need glasses for any other task, having computer glasses is a major advantage to combat eye discomfort during computer work. Computer glasses assist with improved vision when viewing your computer screen and may include special lens coatings to reduce glare and/or a tint designed to eliminate eye strain.Our St George Vision Optometrists can suggest a pair of computer lenses if required.
Bifocal lenses are prescribed for those who require distance and near vision. They have a visible and a half moon appearance.
Sunglasses and Prescription Sunglass Lenses
Sunglasses and Prescription sunglass lenses are available in both single vision and multifocal. These lenses are treated to screen out 99.9% of harmful UV rays. Also available in Transition® and polarized coating
UV Protection coating.is recommended by St George Vision Optometrist as over exposure to UV rays have been associated with cataracts and other eye conditions. So having lenses UV treated protects you eyes from the UV radiation. Mandatory in the Australian environment as it is known to have higher UV exposure than other parts of the world.
Transition® are variable tint lens.They react to the UV light and darken screening out glare and 99.9%of UV radiation.
The latest Transition® lens is available at St George Vision Optometrist in either Distance, Reading Bifocal and Multifocal lenses.
Polycarbonate is a tough manufacturing material of lenses recommended for no rim glasses but also for those involved in active sport, trades people and children’s glasses The material is lighter and thinner than standard plastic and lighter than glass.
Anti reflective and Scratch resistant coating. Most plastic lenses are manufactured with a much harder surface then in the past. The anti reflective is a vacuum applied film on the surface of the lens. St George Vision Optometrists recommend anti reflective coating to all lenses as it enhances the vision and the look of the lens especially high powered lenses.
Suitable also for computer users as it eliminates the reflections from the screen therefore reducing further eyestrain.
